HPW production successfully put into operation for Merck Serono

For several weeks the plant at Vevey, Switzerland reliably produces pharmaceutical water in HPW and/or WFI quality

The installed process system consists of the following stages: softening, reverse osmosis, membrane degassing and electro deionization, ensued by a final cross-flow ultra filtration, ensuring the safe and reliable adherence to the high micro-biological requirements.

The entire process line can be sanitized with hot water (> 80 °C). The system is optimized also regarding the water yield.

With the ROCEDIS 12000 HPW-TS ECO a total yield of < 85% can be achieved, without any reduction of availability or increasing number of cleaning or maintenance cycles. This is realized by the patented “SB-Plus”-Backwash of the concentrate reverse osmosis.

HAGER + ELSÄSSER is convinced that this installation will prove the safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness of membrane processes used for generation of WFI.
