Applications

Production of Boiler Feed Water in Power Plants

Running under extreme pressures, the steam circuits need to be supplied with feed water that will have practically no tendency for precipitates, corrosion and organic contamination. H+E applies various processes like ion exchangers, reverse osmosis, membrane degassing and electrodeionisation in individual combinations for the generation of feed water of the required quality. For smaller amounts, the ROCEDIS plant series offers feed water generation in compact form.

Generation of Cooling Tower Make-Up Water for Power Generation Plants

To compensate for losses due to evaporation and blow down, the cooling circuits are generally fed with river water, which needs to be reliably and effectively cleaned of suspended matter. For this purpose, H+E’s process portfolio has various technologies available, such as classical filtration methods like ultrafiltration and methods for precipitation, flocculation and sedimentation in form of space-saving compact systems FLOCOPAC®.

Just like the boiler feed water, the condensate needs to be cleared from harmful ingredients acquired due to conditioning and pollution before being recirculated into the steam circuits. This is often done by particularly sophisticated ion exchange methods such as, for example, externally regenerated mixed beds. For these special applications, H+E can also rely on profound know-how and decades of experience.

Process Water Treatment in Power Plants
